A Simple Skincare Routine for Grooms
An easy pre-wedding skincare plan for grooms to look fresh, healthy and photo-ready.
Groom Skin
You don't need a 10-step routine to look great in wedding photos. A few consistent habits over a couple of months make all the difference.
The basics (start two to three months before)
- Cleanse morning and night with a gentle face wash.
- Moisturise daily; choose a lightweight formula if your skin is oily.
- Wear SPF every morning to avoid uneven tone and sunburn.
- Exfoliate gently once or twice a week.
Extras that help
- A hydrating eye cream to reduce tired-looking eyes.
- Lip balm — you'll be kissing in close-up photos.
- Drink plenty of water and keep alcohol moderate in the final week.
On the morning
Cleanse, moisturise and use a little blotting powder or blotting papers if you tend to shine — keep some in your pocket for the photos.

Should grooms wear makeup for the wedding?
Many don't, but a light concealer or powder from the makeup artist can reduce shine and redness in photos.
