Choosing a Wedding Fragrance for the Groom
How grooms can choose a signature scent for the wedding day, from fresh citrus to warm woods.
A wedding fragrance is a subtle but memorable detail. Choose something you'll want to wear on anniversaries for years.
Fragrance families for grooms
- Fresh and citrus — bergamot, lemon and vetiver; clean and great for summer.
- Aromatic — lavender, herbs and fougère styles; classic and polished.
- Woody — cedar, sandalwood and vetiver; refined and versatile.
- Warm and spicy — amber, pepper and tobacco notes; rich for winter weddings.
Testing tips
Test on skin, live with it for a day, and ask your partner's opinion. Many couples choose fragrances that complement each other — see the bridal fragrance guide.
Application
Two or three sprays to the chest and neck is enough — you'll be hugging a lot of people. Apply before putting on your shirt to avoid marks.
How much fragrance should a groom wear?
Two to three sprays is plenty. Subtle is best when you'll be close to guests all day.
