Groom Accessories: Ties, Cufflinks, Buttonholes and More
The finishing touches for the groom — ties, cufflinks, pocket squares, watches and buttonholes.
Accessories let the groom add personality without departing from the dress code. Keep them coordinated with the wedding colour palette and the bridal party.
Ties and bow ties
Silk ties in a soft colour or subtle pattern are timeless. Cravats suit morning dress; bow ties add a playful or black-tie feel. Coordinate rather than match exactly with bridesmaid dresses.
Cufflinks
Cufflinks need a double-cuff shirt. They make lovely personalised gifts — engraved initials or the wedding date.
Pocket square
Choose a contrasting texture or pattern rather than an exact match to the tie. A simple straight fold is the smartest option.
Buttonhole
Buttonholes are pinned to the left lapel, over the heart. Ask your florist to echo a bloom from the bridal bouquet, and order spares for the groomsmen and fathers.
Watch and wedding band
A classic watch completes the look. Remember to have your wedding band sized correctly well in advance.
