How to Choose Your Wedding Fragrance
Find a signature wedding scent you'll love forever — fragrance families, testing tips and how to wear it.
Scent is powerfully linked to memory. Wear a new fragrance on your wedding day and, years later, a single spritz can take you straight back to the aisle.
Explore fragrance families
- Floral — rose, peony, jasmine, tuberose; the most classic bridal choice.
- Fresh and citrus — bergamot, neroli and green notes; light and uplifting for summer.
- Gourmand — vanilla, almond and soft sweet notes; cosy for autumn and winter.
- Woody and musky — sandalwood, cedar, soft musks; modern and sophisticated.
How to test properly
Try no more than three scents per visit. Spray on your skin rather than paper, and live with it for a whole day — fragrance changes as it settles. Revisit your favourites over several weeks.
Wearing it on the day
Apply after getting dressed (perfume can mark delicate fabrics) to pulse points such as wrists, neck and behind the ears. Keep a travel atomiser in your bag. Many couples choose complementary scents — see our guide for grooms.
Should my wedding perfume be new?
Many brides choose a new scent so it becomes a unique memory of the day, but a long-loved fragrance is just as special.
